Private equity groups could invest up to $18m in Anu Solar Power

Baring Private Equity Partners and Aditya Birla Private Equity are in the running to buy a 20 per cent stake in Bangalore-based Anu Solar Power, which could value the company at Rs500 crore ($90.1m).

According to a report by the Economic Times, the deal, due to close by the end of September, could see Rs100 crore ($18m) invested into the solar group.

The company, which specialises in the manufacturing of solar inverters and water heaters, saw positive revenues in the financial 2011-12, taking Rs60 crore ($10.8m) in total.
