Enfield wind farm planned for Christmas 2013

By Christmas 2013, wind turbines may be stretching into Enfield’s skyline.

The turbines would be part of Black Oak Wind Farm LLC, located on Buck Hill. The 15- to 20-megawatt facility has a $40 to $45 million estimated construction cost.

Buck Hill’s proposed wind farm has been in development for eight years, project manager Marguerite Wells told The Journal in February.

Before the wind farm is built, an environmental impact statement has to be completed, the public will have a chance to comment on the project, construction details will be worked out and funding secured, she said.
