US Wind Energy Surpasses 50GW, But Questions About the Future Remain

Wind energyin the United States is on the rise. The industry is now producing enough juice to power 13 million homes across the country. Last week, at the National Clean Energy Summit in Las Vegas, the American Wind Energy Association announced that the wind energy industry has surpassed 50GW, a major milestone that was achieved after another quarter of solid growth. But the wind industry still faces uncertainty as a major tax credit is due to expire at the end of the year.

The 50GW milestone of clean energy has the same effect of removing 14 million gas guzzling, carbon emitting cars off the road. The energy produced on wind farms and independent windmills produces the same energy that 11 nuclear power plants or 44 coal burning stations would, but with absolute green energy… Read more
