The contribution of renewable energies to Germany’s power production is becoming increasingly important. According to a new study of the Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien IWR (a German based Renewable Energy Industry Institute), renewables may becom the most important energy source for power production in Germany as early as 2013.
This year, the renewable energy sector are likely to end up in 2nd place, with 140 billion kWh. But as as early as next year renewables energies may replace lignite as the number 1 energy source, Dr. Norbert Allnoch, managing director of IWR said.
