More information on renewable energy seen to encourage private sector support

Speakers in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Clean Energy Forum yesterday said renewable energy is important in providing energy access for all.

“Asia today faces many significant challenges. We must use energy more efficiently, generate more renewable energy, and provide universal energy access to all Asian people. Accelerating Asia’s transition to low-carbon energy for all is critical for Asia’s wellbeing, and for the world,” said ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda.

Countries like China, India and Thailand which have a substantial amount of renewable energy investments “adopted clean energy policies that encourage manufacturing and deployment.” They are also encouraging the expansion of clean energy in many areas.
