Nitish Kumar stresses on renewable energy for Bihar

Environmental organization Greenpeace on Wednesday said it welcomes the recent statement made by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stressing the need to harness the potential of renewable energy to provide energy access to millions in the energy-starved state.

This statement was made by Kumar a few days after Greenpeace had organised an international conference on renewable energy in Patna where Bihar Power Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav released the Smart Energy Access report.

“It is heartening to see that Bihar, under the leadership of its chief minister, is poised to become an energy sufficient state in coming years in a clean and sustainable manner.
